George W. Bush and Hillary Rodham Clinton on Iraq

Writing in today’s Washington Post, Dr. Stephen D. Biddle says that despite pressures to effect Iraq policy change, the president’s opponents find themselves on shaky ground when it comes to proposing a “Plan B” that fits the military situation on the ground in Iraq.

Dr. Stephen D. Biddle concludes that the United States must “go deep or get out,” but cannot split the difference.

New York Senator and candidate for the U.S. Democratic Party in the 2008 United States presidential election Hillary Rodham Clinton gave a speech (read here) yesterday in Iowa in which she told that she and Senator Robert Byrd would introduce legislation to deauthorize the war in Iraq.
