Karl Rove, top strategist, is leaving the White House


Senior White House advisor Karl Rove told The Wall Street Journal he will resign at the end of August (read here) and will not seek a future role in political consulting.

The New York Times says Rove’s resignation marks a “major turning point” for the Bush administration, and comes on the heels of several “major setbacks” politically.
