United States presidential election, 2008: Clinton and Obama on foreign policy issues

Hillary Clinton called for President George W. Bush to clarify his recent comments that a military draft “has always been on the table.” In a letter to Bush, Clinton wrote, “re-establishing a draft is not the answer.”

Barack Obama wrote an editorial in the Globe Gazette clarifying his views on U.S. policy toward Pakistan. “I have never called for an invasion of Pakistan,” he writes.
