United States presidential election, 2008: Candidate Votes on Iraq

The House of Representatives passed a bill granting the Bush administration two months to form a plan to pull combat forces out of Iraq.

Presidential candidates Dennis Kucinich and Tom Tancredo voted against the measure, while Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul voted in favor.

Senator Joe Biden and top political analyst Leslie Gelb have an op-ed in the Washington Post clarifying their plan for decentralizing power in Iraq, which they say is the only chance for a political settlement.

Mitt Romney says Senator Hillary Clinton’s co-sponsorship of legislation prohibiting the use of funds for military operations in Iran was “fundamentally irresponsible.”
