UN Security Council plans new sanctions against Iran


The five permanent members of the UN Security Council meet in London today to discuss intensifying pressure on Iran to stop its nuclear program, including possible increased sanctions.

The Christian Science Monitor reports on the regional effects of Shiite Iran’s race for nuclear weapons, noting that thirteen Sunni Arab governments declared nuclear goals this year.
