U.S. military plans new Afghanistan strategy


New statements from high-level military officials in the United States have brought debate over U.S. cross-border raids into the country to a boil.

Speaking yesterday, Admiral Mike Mullen, the chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, called for a new strategy in Afghanistan focusing on rooting out Taliban bases across the country’s border in Pakistan.
