A message from Norman Podhoretz

Dear Friend,

I write to solicit your support for Commentary and its blog, contentions.

This year, of all years, your tax-deductible donation will be indispensable. For, as things look now, the voice of Commentary in the world of ideas will be needed more, perhaps, than ever before. Today’s economic situation may make it seem an especially poor time to be soliciting financial support. But has there ever been a better or a more needful time to show it?

In particular, and in the immediate context of our historical moment, Commentary will go on taking the lead in supporting the struggle against Islamofascism.

With your help, it will remain unswervably committed to the defense of the democratic West and its civilization, and to the support of the cause of Israel and the Jewish people.

Commentary will continue challenging the conventional liberal wisdom on all the important domestic issues of the day, while also casting a critical eye on the arts and the culture out of which so many of those issues arise.

Payment options are listed below. I can assure you that whatever you can give will be an enormous help, and will be spent prudently, creatively, rewardingly, and productively.

With enormous gratitude

Norman Podhoretz

P.S. If you are able to contribute $2,500 or more, we would love to have you join us at the annual dinner of the Commentary Fund, held each May in New York, where you can speak with Commentary’s writers, editors, and bloggers.
